Former Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Ike Taylor has already landed a new gig just four months after announcing his retirement with the Black and Gold.
The NFL announced on Thursday that Taylor would join their NFL Media group as an analyst for the 2015 season.
Taylor, 35, will primarily appear on NFL Now, the league’s digital streaming video service, as well as shows on NFL Network, including “NFL Fantasy Live” and “The Top 100 Players”.
The league also announced the hiring of former Jacksonville Jaguars running back Maurice-Jones Drew in a similar role.
Taylor retired in April after 12 seasons and two Super Bowl victories with the Steelers. In Super Bowl 40, Taylor made one of his most significant contributions with team; intercepting Seattle Seahawks quarterback Matt Hasseback on the Steelers’ five-yard line to seal the win.
He finished his career with 174 games played, with 517 tackles, 133 passes defended and 14 interceptions. He started at cornerback for the Steelers for nine consecutive seasons from 2005 to 2013.
Taylor was the Steelers’ fourth-round draft pick in the 2003 NFL draft out of Louisiana-Lafayette, and was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana.
He will be the third former Steelers defensive back to work for NFL Network, following in the footsteps of Rod Woodson and Solomon Wilcots.
