The Pittsburgh Panthers made a run into the semi-finals of their first ACC tournament. A large part of their success in the tournament was Talib Zanna.
Zanna, a 6-foot-9 senior forward out of Nigeria, averaged a double-double throughout the ACC tournament despite the Panthers falling to Virginia one game away from the finals.
Zanna started the Week out with a 17-point, nine-rebound performance against Wake Forest. The 17 points came on a solid 8-of-10 shooting from the field and a perfect 1-of-1 from the foul line. He also had three assists, three steals and a block. In the next round, Zanna posted 19 points and 21 boards in an upset win over No. 15 North Carolina. He shot 8-of-13 from the field including 3-of-3 from the charity stripe. He also had three assists and a block. In the last game of the tournament for Pitt, Zanna had 15 points and nine rebounds. The 15 points came on 5-of-8 shooting and 5-of-6 from the free throw line.
For the tournament, Zanna averaged 17.0 points and 13.0 rebounds. He also shot 21-of-31 (67.7 %) from the floor and 9-of-10 (90 %) from the foul line.
