The Pittsburgh Pirates and Pirates Charities are encouraging all fans in attendance at PNC Park on Saturday, April 19 to show their support of Franklin Regional through the Pirates Charities 50/50 Raffle. Tomorrow night, all proceeds from the Pirates Charities 50/50 Raffle will benefit the “We Are FR Fund,” a fund set up to assist the victims of the Franklin Regional school tragedy.
One hundred percent of the donations to the “We R FR Fund” will be used to meet immediate needs of the injured students and families, such as incidental medical and travel expenses not covered by insurance; other student and staff needs related to the event, and to address longer term recovery for the district. If any funds remain once these needs are addressed, a permanent scholarship fund may be established.
The Pirates organization and Franklin Regional are working together to coordinate a Franklin Regional Night at PNC Park at a later date this season. All information regarding a future Franklin Regional Night will be available once confirmed.
The Pirates Charities 50/50 Raffle takes place during every game at PNC Park starting from the time the gates open to the general public through the last out of the 6th inning. Each night one lucky fan wins fifty percent of the total amount collected during the game as the remaining fifty percent will be used to benefit Pirates Charities programs.
