Steelers’ running back LeGarrette Blount left the team’s Monday night game early. He was apparently upset over a lack of carries in the team’s 27-24 victory over the Tennessee Titans. The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette’s Ed Bouchette reported.
According to the Post-Gazette, Blount left the field early, went to the locker room, changed, and headed for the team bus. Blount was upset that he did not have any carries while fellow running back Le’Veon Bell was racking up 204 yards on 33 carries. It was the first time this season that Blount did not have a carry.
Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin did not address the matter in his post-game press conference. It is unknown what, if any, disciplinary measures Blount will face.
It’s not the first time Blount has been in hot water. While he was attending the University of Oregon in 2009, Blount was suspended eight games for punching an opponent, shoving teammates, and charging opposing fans with a chair.
Blount was also arrested, along with Bell, in August on marijuana possession charges.
Blount signed a two-year, $3.85 million contract with the Steelers this offseason. Through 11 games, he has 266 yards on 65 carries and 2 touchdowns for Pittsburgh.
The Steelers are off next week before hosting the Saints in week 13.
