The Pittsburgh Steelers looked very impressive during their rout of the San Francisco 49ers Sunday afternoon at Heinz Field.
Perhaps no player looked better than quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.
Roethlisberger’s performance, which saw him complete 21-of-27 passes for 369 yards and three touchdowns was good enough to see the Steelers signal caller be named the AFC’s Offensive Player of the Week.
It is the 12th time in his career that Roethlisberger has earned the honor.
Roethlisberger was near perfect on Sunday and finished the game with a passer rating of 155.8.
In the process he tied Terry Bradshaw’s Steelers record for wins with 107 and moved into a tie for 15th all-time in the NFL for career touchdown passes with 255.
Roethlisberger, who said after the game that he called “almost every single play” had the Steelers offense looking nearly unstoppable.
If the veteran can continue to play at the level he did on Sunday, there may be a few more Player of the Week honors heading his way this season.
