By all accounts, the Pittsburgh Steelers were pretty lucky to escape Cincinnati with a win on Saturday.
They also appear pretty lucky to have escaped in good health.
After Saturday’s Wild card win, things looked gloom for the possibilities for both quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and wide receiver Antonio Brown being able to face the Denver Broncos on Sunday, but it looks like the Steelers will have their two best players in uniform.
Roethlisberger had an MRI on his shoulder after taking a hard shot from Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict, but declared himself day-to-day. His shoulder is sore and the Steelers expect him to be limited, but all signs point to Roethlisberger being under center.
As for Brown, who went into the concussion protocol after taking a hit to the helmet from Burfict, he is said to be fine and should be able to play against the Broncos.
That’s quite the quick turnaround for Brown, who looked dead after taking the hit.
That news alone should really piss off Bengals’ cornerback Adam Jones, who has accused Brown of faking the injury, saying Brown deserves a “Grammy” for his acting job.
It’s hard to think that either player will be at 100 percent heading into Denver, and a lot can change between now and game day, but everything seems positive on the injury front for the Steelers as they prepare to head into Denver.
