Its hockey season and the Penguins have started out strong. So far on the season they’re 4-1. This past week, they won three of their four games and it goes without saying that captain Sidney Crosby has come to play.
In the Pens 4-1 win over Buffalo last Saturday, Crosby provided a goal for his team. The next two games, he provided help even though he didn’t score. In the two games, Crosby added three assists. The Pens won Tuesday 5-2 but lost Friday 6-3 despite Crosby’s two assists.
Crosby would bounce back on Saturday, though, and lead the Pens with a hat trick. Crosby tied the game early with a power play goal and then bounced back and tied the game later at three apiece. 10:01 into the third period, Crosby put the Pens up 4-3 with his third goal of the game. Even though the Lightning would come back and tie it, Crosby would assist the game-winning goal late in the period.
For his strong part in the Pens early success, Crosby is this week’s Penguin of the Week.
