Another week of ACC football is in the books and the king of the mountain has been unseated as Florida State will not win the conference this season.
Things look to be setting up for a Clemson-North Carolina ACC Championship Game, which should be entertaining.
The Power Rankings come to you one-day later this week as we have already had one conference game take place.
How does your team stack up?
Let’s take a look.
1. Clemson (9-0, 6-0 ACC), defeated Florida State 23-13, Last Week-1)
The Tigers clinched the Atlantic Division by beating Florida State and showed why they are ranked No. 1 in the College Football Playoff Rankings. With three games remaining against under .500 teams, Clemson’s path to the playoffs is pretty much paved. Up Next: Saturday at Syracuse
2. North Carolina (8-1, 5-0, defeated Duke 66-31, LW-3)
Marquise Williams threw for a school record 494 yards in a beat down of Duke. The Tar Heels still have a few hurdles in front of them to clinch the Coastal Division, but UNC is playing about as good as any team in the country right now. Up Next: Saturday vs. Miami
3. Florida State (7-2, 5-2, lost to Clemson 23-13, LW-2)
The Seminoles dominance of the ACC from 2012-14, is over, but if they win out FSU can still be a 10-win team. Up Next: Saturday vs. North Carolina State
4. Pitt (6-3, 4-1, lost to Notre Dame 42-30, LW-4)
The Panthers have lost two in a row, but stay at No. 4. They showed that they don’t have the talent yet to compete with the likes of Notre Dame, but the Panthers are getting there. Pitt’s three losses on the season have come to teams that are a combined 25-2. This week is a big week as Pat Narduzzi’s team needs to show they can deal with adversity and rebound with a win. Up Next: Saturday at Duke
5. Miami (6-3, 3-2, defeated Virginia 27-21, LW-6)
The Canes have won two straight under interim head coach Larry Scott and if they can find a way to upset UNC, could be in the driver’s seat in the Coastal. Up Next: Saturday at North Carolina
6. Louisville (5-4, 4-2, defeated Syracuse 41-17, LW-7)
The Cardinals looked impressive against Syracuse and have won five-of-six. A win this week and they are bowl eligible. Up Next: Saturday vs. Virginia
7. Duke (6-3, 3-2, lost to North Carolina 66-31, LW-5)
The Blue Devils did not handle the adversity from the Miami loss very well, giving up 66 points to North Carolina. What happened to the Duke defense? After such a dominant start, the Blue Devils have given up 30-plus points in three straight games. Up Next: Saturday vs. Pitt
8. North Carolina State (6-3, 2-3, defeated Boston College 24-8, LW- 8)
It’s a shame that the only two wins against Power 5 teams that the Wolfpack have this season are over Wake Forest and BC, but the Wolfpack are bowl eligible, which is more than I can say for the rest of the conference. Up Next: Saturday at Florida State
9. Virginia Tech (5-5, 3-3, defeated Georgia Tech 23-21, LW-9)
Since I didn’t get the rankings up until Friday this week, Thursday’s game between VT and GT factors in this week. A big win against the Yellow Jackets on Thursday means the Hokies need just one more win to send Frank Beamer out with a bowl game. Up Next: Saturday Nov. 21 vs. North Carolina
10. Virginia (3-6, 2-3, lost to Miami 27-21, LW-10)
The Hoos have now lost 14 consecutive road games and must win out to even make a bowl. Bye-bye Mike London. Up Next: Saturday at Louisville
11. Georgia Tech (3-7, 1-6, lost to Virginia Tech 23-21, LW-11)
The Jackets needed to win out to make a bowl. Their streak of 18 consecutive years just came to an end. Up Next: Saturday Nov. 21 at Miami
12. Syracuse (3-6, 1-4, lost to Louisville 41-17, LW-12)
After a strong start to the season, Syracuse has lost six straight and just gave up 40-plus point to Louisville third-string QB Kyle Bolin. Up Next: Saturday vs. Clemson
13. Wake Forest (3-6, 1-5, Idle, LW-13)
It’s been a tough year for the Deamon Deacons and they still have Notre Dame and Clemson on tap in back-to-back weeks. Up Next: Saturday at Notre Dame
14. Boston College (3-7, 0-7, lost to NC State 24-8, LW-14)
Six consecutive losses now for BC and they get a week off before they play Notre Dame at Fenway Park. Up Next: Idle
