1. Florida State (7-0, 4-0 ACC, BYE, Last Week-1)
Will the Seminoles end up with more wins or more players linked to trouble with the law? That could be a tight race the rest of the season. Give them credit for putting all the distractions aside, but they better be focused this week, facing the top ranked defense in the nation. Up Next: Thursday at Louisville
2. Clemson (6-2, 5-1, defeated Syracuse 16-6, Last Week-2)
It wasn’t pretty, but the Tigers got another win. With Deshaun Watson out and other injuries, Clemson will have to rely on their defense the rest of the way. Up Next: BYE
3. Duke (6-1, 2-1, BYE, Last Week-4)
Coming off a week off, the explosive Blue Devils still look like the best team in the Coastal Division. Up Next: Saturday at Pitt
4. Louisville (6-2, 4-2, BYE, Last Week-5)
The Cardinals got the explosive DeVante Parker back last week to help their struggling offense. Can they do enough to knock off the Seminoles? Up Next: Thursday vs. Florida State
5. Miami (5-3, 2-2, defeated Virginia Tech 30-6, Last Week-8)
The Canes are on a roll and hold the tie-breaker over Duke in the Coastal. The Canes racked up 346 yards rushing, the most ever on a Frank Beamer-coached team last week and Duke Johnson has put together four consecutive 100 yard games. Up Next: Saturday vs. North Carolina
6. Georgia Tech (6-2, 3-2, defeated Pitt 56-28, Last Week-6)
The Jackets rolled up 615 total yards and their 56 points were the most by an opponent at Heinz Field. Creating six turnovers will help do that. Up Next: Saturday vs. Virginia
7. Virginia (4-4, 2-2, lost to North Carolina 28-27, Last Week-3)
The Cavs self-destructed and blew a late lead to the Tar Heels. It’s still a nice start to the season for Virginia. Up Next: Saturday at Georgia Tech
8. Boston College (5-3, 2-2, defeated Wake Forest 23-17, Last Week-10)
Not their best performance of the season in a win Saturday against WF, but with all of the production that BC lost from last year’s squad, the Eagles are one win away from bowl eligibility. Up Next: Saturday at Virginia Tech
9. North Carolina (4-4, 2-2, defeated Virginia 28-27, Last Week-14)
They rallied for a win Saturday. But while their offense can be potent, the Tar Heels defense still stinks. A nice win though nonetheless. Up Next: Saturday at Miami
10. Pitt (4-4, 2-2, lost to Georgia Tech 56-28, Last Week-9)
While you were reading all of this, the Panthers lost another fumble. Saturday was a nightmare for Pitt, but if they find a way to beat Duke, they still have a chance to somehow win the Coastal Division. Up Next: Saturday vs. Duke
11. Virginia Tech (4-4, 1-3, lost to Miami 30-6, Last Week-7)
How low can the Hokies sink? Each week seems worse than the previous one and that is very uncharacteristic of a Beamer team. Up Next: Saturday vs. Boston College
12. North Carolina State (4-4, 0-4, BYE, Last Week-11)
Coming off a week off the Wolfpack look for their first conference win in a very long time. Up Next: Saturday at Syracuse
13. Syracuse (3-5, 1-3, lost to Clemson 16-6, Last Week-12)
The Syracuse defense has played well, but their offense is lousy. They forced four Clemson turnovers on Saturday and couldn’t turn them into meaningful points. Story of the season. Up Next: Saturday vs. North Carolina State
14. Wake Forest (2-6, 0-4, lost to Boston College 23-17, Last Week-13)
Speaking of lousy offense. John Wolford has thrown at least one interception in each game, and has 13 on the season. That doesn’t bode well for a team that ranks 108th in the nation in passing, 128th in rushing and 125th in points per game. Up Next: BYE
