You can make a case for Pittsburgh Steelers’ wide receiver Antonio Brown for being the best player in the entire NFL at the moment.
His teammates recognized Brown’s greatness on Wednesday and for the third time in the past five seasons voted Brown the team MVP.
Brown has put together another outstanding season in which he has caught 123 passes, which is second to only Atlanta’s Julio Jones. He also ranks second in both receiving yards (1,647) and receiving yards per game (109.8) in 2015. In the process, Brown set the NFL record for most receptions in any three consecutive seasons (362).
This season Brown became the first player in team history to reach 1,500 yards from scrimmage in three straight seasons. He established Steelers’ single-game records in receptions (17), receiving yards (284) and yards from scrimmage (306). Brown also became the first player in NFL history this season to record 16 catches in a game twice in the same season.
Brown earned his third straight trip to the Pro Bowl and fourth overall selection. He was named AFC Offensive Player of the Month (November), and he has earned AFC Offensive Player of the Week honors (Week 15) and AFC Special Teams Player of the Week honors (Week 13).
He is just the fourth player in franchise history to earn team MVP honors three times, joining Rod Woodson, Jerome Bettis and Hines Ward.
