For the first time in their programs history, fans of Robert Morris Colonials football can look across the sidelines and not see Joe Walton. However while Walton, the only head coach in Robert Morris history, has retired, the program is in very good hands with John Banaszak as its new head coach. While Banaszak certainly has some big shoes to fill, he is certainly up for the challenge. “It’s a true honor,” said Banaszak. “I’m very proud to be the second coach in Robert Morris history and ... It’s Okay To Root For Cleveland Just This Once.
A Pittsburgher rooting for a team from Cleveland? Yes I’m rooting for the Cleveland Gladiators to win Arena Bowl XXVII, so shoot me. What’s not to like about this team? Here’s a squad that went 4-14 last year and turned it around to an impressive 19-1 just a year later. They may not blow teams out and there may have been some luck involved but the bottom line is that this is a team that plays hard, physical, arena football the right way and has been rewarded for their efforts this year. Hall of Famer Dan Marino threw 79 touchdown passes while wearing a Pitt uniform, but ... Read More
Lifeless Steelers Lose Big in Philly
As if the 24 hours-old news of the top two running backs on the depth chart being arrested on marijuana charges was not enough, tack on an ugly preseason loss to the list of problems for Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin. At Philadelphia's Lincoln Financial Field against the Eagles (1-2) on Thursday night, the Steelers (1-2) fell flat in an embarrassing 31-21 loss, a final score that was not indicative of how lopsided this game really was. Pittsburgh trailed 17-0 at halftime and 31-7 ... Read More
