The Rushel Shell saga seems to have come to a swift end and it is bad news for the Pitt Panthers football team. According to Jerry DiPaola of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, Shell told Panthers head coach Paul Chryst he will transfer from the university, ending his stay with the team after one season. Shell was absent from spring practice last week amid rumors of potential transfer and later in the week Chryst issued a statement that Shell was taking time away from football to sort out ... Penguins’ trades put Eastern Conference in a tough spot
Unless a team trades for Wayne Gretzky and the DeLorean, the Pittsburgh Penguins will emerge as the winners of the trade deadline and all moves leading up to it. Ray Shero did not make the same mistake as last year, standing pat despite the fact that his team was racing for a long playoff run. He acquired a bruising defenseman ... Read More

Cooke, Vokoun lead Penguins to 15th straight win
It seems that with every win the Pittsburgh Penguins have had during their recent winning streak, someone different steps up. Saturday afternoon, it was Matt Cooke's turn to play hero. Cooke broke open a scoreless game in the third period by picking up a loose puck and getting it by New York Islanders goaltender Evgeni Nabokov at the 8:10 mark of the third period. Power fall to the Sharks 61-35
The Pittsburgh Power (0-2) were hoping Friday night’s game against the Jacksonville Sharks (2-0) would be an opportunity to show what they had learned after dropping the season opener to Utah 64-33. It seems all they’ve learned is that this offensive line is not adequate enough as the same problems from week 1 showed up again in a 61-35 loss to the Sharks. After getting sacked four times by a strong Utah front, Power starting quarterback Jordan Jefferson once again found himself under heavy ... Read More
