Start QB Josh Freeman- Freeman had his best game of the season last week against the Chiefs, and could have another big day tomorrow facing a vulnerable Saints defense. QB Tony Romo- With Demarco Murray out, the Cowboys will likely be passing a lot, and Carolina’s pass defense is mediocre at best. QB Andrew Luck- Luck has played well at home this season, and that should continue tomorrow when he faces a Cleveland defense that has been allowing a lot of QB fantasy points as of ... Read More
What’s wrong with the Steelers Defense? (Part 258)
Way back in 2009, Pittsburgh brought back the motto as the City of Champions. However, the Steelers collapsed on their way to defending another Super Bowl title, losing 5-games in a row after a 6-2 start. Bad teams like the Chiefs and Raiders pulled off unlikely victories by overcoming 4th-quarter deficits. Sound familiar? The late-season meltdown served as the first indication that the once-vaunted black and gold defense had suddenly and unexpectedly become “old and slow.” Since then, ... Read More
Deem’s Week 7 key NFL matchups
Baltimore at Houston -- The Ravens have had a very tough week as they lost one of the top corner backs in the league Ladarius Webb and team leader Ray Lewis for the season to injuries in a hard fought win over the Cowboys last week. It was a game where the vaunted Ravens' defense was shredded by the Cowboys run game a sight we are not used to seeing. So everyone is wondering if this defense who keeps losing players can hold up well enough for them to make another playoff run. The Texans are ... Read More

When most people think of the lockout, they’re thinking mostly about the owners and the players. The players spend their time honing their skills overseas, while the owners bathe in money, or whatever it is they do. But seldom do people consider the coaches. Honestly, what is a coach supposed to do during a lockout? Go to an arcade to critique someone’s bubble hockey skills? Maybe develop new air hockey techniques? Boston Bruins Head Coach Claude Julien decided to take a slightly different ... Read More

There’s Still Hope for Paul Chryst and Pitt
To say that the start to the Paul Chryst era has been a bit depressing for Pitt fans is an understatement. Chryst and the Panthers sit at 2-4 on the season and a trip to a bowl game is already pretty close to being out of reach. However as depressing as the 2012 season has been to date, there is still plenty of hope for the future of Pitt football and they can look no further to last week's opponent in Louisville as an example. The Cardinals sit at 6-0 but things weren't always so rosy. It was ... Read More
Trey Zeigler Brings Rare Size to Panthers’ Backcourt
It's far too early to call newcomer Trey Zeigler the X-factor to this season for the Pitt Panthers basketball team, but as the season gets closer, he very well could become that. At the very least, Zeigler gives Panthers' head coach Jamie Dixon something that he's never had before as the Pitt head coach- size at the 2-guard spot. Dixon has had some quality guards in the past, a list that includes: Ashton Gibbs, Brad Wanamaker, Jermaine Dixon, LeVance Fields and plenty of others. But the ... Read More

Adams became Pitt’s third preseason Big East Rookie of the Year selection and first since Vonteego Cummings earned the honor prior to the 1995-96 season. Jerome Lane also earned the honor before the 1985-86 campaign. In addition to Adams, point guard ... Read More
