Sophomore football player Willie Leavell’s game-deciding punt block brought down the four-time defending Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) champions. Leavell made the biggest play of Waynesburg’s 2012 season when he blocked a Thomas More punt and, in one continuous movement, pulled the ball in and ran 18 yards to score the deciding touchdown in a 14-10 Yellow Jacket victory. The game-winning effort gave the Jackets their second-straight win over the Saints. On Monday, he was honored as ... Read More
Top five prospects in the 2013 NHL draft
The internet has done two things simultaneously: shortened our attention spans and yet somehow fostered a love for long-term projections. Considering that we have yet to even begin the 2012-13 season, it may seem a bit premature to start anointing the cream of next year’s draft crop. However, hockey fans have to do something to stave off lockout depression, and this is about the best we can do. 1. Nathan MacKinnon- Center- Halifax Mooseheads (QMJHL) MacKinnon is a naturally gifted ... Read More
Tino Sunseri Putting it Together as Pitt QB
Through four weeks of the 2012 college football season, things have been a roller coaster ride for the Pitt Panthers. However while there have been many inconsistencies on both sides of the ball for Paul Chryst's team, the one constant has been the play of quarterback Tino Sunseri, which is not only quite surprising for Panthers' fans, but also quite nice to see. Other than a couple rough series' against Cincinnati, Sunseri hasn't done anything to hold the Panthers back. He's not making ... Read More
Grading the Steelers Week 3 Loss to Raiders
The Pittsburgh Steelers enter their upcoming bye week sitting at a disappointing 1-2, after not being able to close out the Oakland Raiders on Sunday, as their defense allowed scores on their final five possessions. It's becoming a theme for the Steelers defense that can't seem to make big plays, playing without both James Harrison and Troy Polamalu. While that hurts some, it's hard to imagine this defense being that much better with both in the lineup. Despite the loss, there were some ... Read More
Steelers lose on last second field goal
A last second field goal and an Antonio Brown fumble led to the Steelers second loss of the season. Ben Roethlisberger played a very good game at the quarterback position throwing for four touchdowns. He picked up 384 yards altogether and did his best in helping the Steelers out. The opening drive resulted in a Carson Palmer interception on the first play from scrimmage. After a good return from Marcel Reese, Palmer tried throwing the first play and Ryan Clark intercepted it and returned it ... Read More

He hadn't had a win in over a month, and his outing today was very impressive and one of the better ones of the second half. Chad Qualls pitched a hitless ninth to close the game out. A productive fifth inning ... Read More
‘Cutch’ No Longer the MVP and It’s Not His Fault
Barring a late-season win streak, the Pirates will surely clinch their 20th consecutive losing season. Just like last year, the season will end with an epic collapse to erase what was a competitive four months of baseball. And yet, there is one major difference between last year's collapse and this year. Andrew McCutchen is still playing at an All-star level. He hasn't put up the same numbers we saw in May and June but asking a player to hit 7-8 home runs while batting .370 is asking for ... Read More
