Week 1 is in the books and we already have a change at the top of our ACC Power Rankings. Four teams in the conference found themselves on the losing end of things, but everyone gets back at it this week. The biggest news of the week was the amount of injuries that happened around the conference as we will see in the next couple of weeks how teams deal with major losses. Let’s take a look at how the teams stack up heading into Week 2 of the season. 1. Georgia Tech (1-0, 0-0 ACC, ... Read More
Qadree Ollison ready for big role in Pitt offense
While wins haven’t exactly piled up in recent seasons in the fashion the Pitt Panthers would like, the one thing that has been a constant has been quality production from the tailback position. Whether it be LeSean McCoy, Dion Lewis, Ray Graham or most recently James Conner, the Panthers are usually going to be able to run the football effectively. Redshirt freshman Qadree Ollison will get his opportunity to add his name to that list. With Conner now out for the season and backup Chris ... Read More

The Pitt Panthers started off the season 1-0 with a win at home against Youngstown State on Saturday and there were more than a couple of significant individual performances along the way. Steelers 2015 draft class already looking bad
A lot of people felt going into the 2015 NFL Draft that Pittsburgh Steelers general manager needed to hit more than a few home runs with his eight picks. Needless to say, at least on paper, that doesn't look like it is going to be the case once again. When the rosters were trimmed to 53 players this weekend, it included some of that class. Three of the team's eight picks were cut this weekend, including fourth-round cornerback Doran Grant, sixth-round pass-rusher Anthony Chickillo (both ... Read More

Temple snaps 74-year losing streak against Penn State, 27-10
Temple (1-0) capitalized on foolish mistakes to snap Penn State’s (0-1) 40-game win streak today at Lincoln Financial Field by a final score of 27-10. This is the first time the Owls have beaten Penn State since 1941. Penn State dominated the first period of play; in the first offensive drive, true freshman Joey Julius put Penn State on the board with a 34-yard field goal following a 33-yard rush from freshman wide receiver Brandon Polk. The Nittany Lions took a 10-point lead after junior ... Read More
Pat Narduzzi gets first win; Pitt survives Youngstown State
The Pat Narduzzi era of Pitt football got off to a good start on Saturday. Behind a solid rushing attack, the Panthers got Narduzzi his first career victory as a head coach with a 45-37 victory over Youngstown State at Heinz Field. It certainly wasn’t the way the way he would have drawn it up, but Narduzzi was certainly happy with the final result. “A win is a win is a win,” said Narduzzi. “There’s pretty wins and there’s ugly wins and this one was probably somewhere in between. Some ... Read More

Can the Penguins afford Cody Franson?
The Pittsburgh Penguins are still looking to bolster their blue line for the upcoming season and are rumored to be one of the teams attempting to woo free agent defenseman Cody Franson. Franson was drafted by the Nashville Predators and spent the first four years of his career as a minor leaguer or a third-pairing defender in their organization. They traded him to the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2011 and, over the past four seasons, he improved into a solid top four defenseman before getting ... Read More
Steelers trade P Brad Wing to the New York Giants
We don't know who won all of the training camp battles yet for the Pittsburgh Steelers, but one thing we know for sure is who won the competition to be the team's punter in 2015. Friday, the Steelers traded punter Brad Wing to the New York Giants, which hands the job to Australian Jordan Berry. The Steelers will get back a late-round pick in the deal, which is good in its own right. This marks the third trade already that Kevin Colbert has made since training camp began, shipping out late ... Read More
