Pirates sign Morton to three-year extension
Jeff Passan of Yahoo! Sports broke the news on Wednesday that the Pittsburgh Pirates have signed Charlie Morton to a three-year extension worth at least $20 million, with a $1 million buyout and a club option for 2017 worth up to $10 million. Morton will make $4 million this year, $8 million next year, $8 million in 2016 and then the club option. The Pirates have also been one of eight teams which have showed interest in Johan Santana. The NFL has announced that it has fined Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin $100,00 for his actions against the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday night.
