The season has been off to a rough start, and the Steelers would love to turn it all around tomorrow night against the Chicago Bears on Sunday Night Football.
After poor offensive showings against the Titans and Bengals, the Steelers will need to step up if they look to beat a solid team in the Chicago Bears. As always, quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is going to have to be the leader, and he comes into the game with 442 passing yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions. His opposing quarterback, Jay Cutler, has done a good job this season. He’s thrown for five touchdowns, three interceptions, while racking up 534 passing yards.
The running game for the Steelers has been dreadful so far this season. The leading rusher on the team is Felix Jones who has 10 carries for 37 yards, and the Steelers need to look to establish a rushing attack for the game tomorrow night. On Chicago’s side of the ball, Matt Forte is the featured back as usual.
Brandon Marshall is a player to look out for the Bears. He’s one of the best wide receivers in the NFL, and so far this season, has caught 15 passes for 217 yards and two touchdowns. Ike Taylor will need to play a good game against Marshall if the Steelers have any sort of hopes in shutting him down.
Martellus Bennett is a serious red zone threat, and he’s collected three touchdowns in two weeks, as one of them was the game winner last week against the Vikings with only ten seconds left in the game.
When it comes to the Steelers side of the receiving game, Emmanuel Sanders and Antonio Brown have each had similar seasons to one another. I expect Sanders to play a good game, and Roethlisberger will need to lead them through a solid Bears secondary.
Now that linebacker Brian Urlacher has retired, Lance Briggs is the leader of the defense, and the offensive line will need to come together and help shutdown the strong defense of the Bears.
Kickoff is Sunday night at 8:30, as the Steelers (0-2) look to pick up their first win of the season against the Chicago Bears (2-0).
