The Pittsburgh Chapter of the Pro Football Writers of America has announced Ike Taylor and Le’Veon Bell were awarded the “The Chief Award” and “Joe Greene Great Performance Award”, respectively.
“The Chief Award” was established in honor of Steelers’ founder, Arthur J. Rooney, Sr. and presented annually to the member of the Steelers’ organization who best exemplifies the spirit of cooperation with the media that Rooney did. Ike Taylor is host to his own radio show, The Ike Taylor Show, in injection with TribLIVE radio.
The “Joe Greene Great Performance Award” is given annually to the Steelers most outstanding rookie. Bell has rushed for 770 yards in 12 starts with seven touchdowns, and added 393 yards receiving.
Bell is just the third rookie in Steelers history to have over 1,000 yards from scrimmage.
