Beau Bennett, who has missed the last two games, has now been placed on IR and is expected to miss 2-3 months with a wrist injury.
The 21 year old former first round draft pick has three points in twelve games this season. Bennett scored his only goal of the season against the Washington Capitals last Wednesday, but left the game against the Islanders two days later and did not return.
With Bennett out and Tanner Glass scratched with a hand injury, the Penguins recalled Andrew Ebbett and Zach Sill from Wilkes-Baare. Ebbett was signed in the offseason and was third in scoring at WBS before being called up. Sill tallied five points for the baby Penguins in fourteen games this season.
Glass’s injury is thought to be day to day and he could return as soon as Wednesday against Toronto.
With Bennett out, the Penguins will likely move Jussi Jokinen up to the second line to play alongside James Neal and Evgeni Malkin.
Chuck Kobasew, who has been out since October 28th with a lower body injury, is close to returning and would provide some depth on the bottom six forwards.
