Duquesne’s Derrick Colter has been named Atlantic 10 Player of the Week for his performance in the Dukes’ wins over La Salle and Saint Louis last week.
The senior averaged 25 points in the two games, shooting 44.1 percent from the field, including 7-of-17 from the arc and averaged 3.5 assists for the week, according to goduquesne.com.
Colter tied his career-high 27 points in Tuesday’s win over La Salle. In both the La Salle and Saint Louis games, Colter scored 20 points in the second half.
Colter joins teammate Micah Mason in earning the Player of the Week honor, which Mason achieved on March 3, 2014.
The 5’11 guard, a three-time Rookie of the Week in 2013, ranks second on Duquesne’s all-time career starts list with 113, having started every game in his career. Colter remains tied for 12th on Duquesne’s all-time scoring list with 1,485 points.
Colter, named to the 2012-13 Atlantic 10 All-Rookie Team, remains one of three players to lead the Dukes in scoring and assists in multiple seasons.
