De’Antwan Williams and the Crimson Hawks may have played their last game of the season, and the last of Williams’ career. He sure did make it count.
Williams, who was granted an extra year of eligibility this season, made the most of his senior year. The 5-7, 195 pound back that they call “The Rocket”, closed out his season on a very high note, setting records on the way.
He rushed for 315 yards and three touchdowns in the Hawks blowout win over Shippensburg. Williams scored on runs of six, 38 and 66 yards on the day. His first score came in the second quarter to put the Hawks up 21-7. The last two came at the end of the fourth quarter, extending the Hawks’ lead.
The 315-yard performance was the best in school history for a single game.
For the season overall, Williams racked up 1,347 yards and 18 touchdowns to lead the team. His longest run of the season was the 66 yard score on Saturday. He also caught 13 passes for 184 yards for the season.
For his hard work all season and record setting performance Saturday, Williams is this week’s Player of the Week.
