Monday night, the Pittsburgh Penguins faced off against the Tampa Bay Lightning in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals. The Penguins were able to tie the series 1-1 after a 3-2 overtime win.
The first period started out hopeful for the Penguins after Matt Cullen and Phil Kessel scored the first two goals of the game, allowing the Penguins to lead 2-0. Later in the first period, however, the Lightning came back to tie the game, after Anton Stralman and Jonathon Drouin scored two goals, ending the first period 2-2.
The second period was a battle of the goalies as neither team scored. Both Matt Murray and Andrei Vasilevskiy made saves that allowed the score to remain tied for the time being. The third period was similar to the second with no goals.
Overtime was quickly over after Sidney Crosby scored his first goal in eight games, making the score 3-2.
What is the best way to start the morning? Trust us. It’s by re-watching Sidney Crosby’s OT goal.https://t.co/Y4Zbo6zdIV

Murray Versus Vasilevskiy
Periods two and three proved to be interesting for both the Penguins and the Lightning goalies. While both set of lines did a decent job, the goalies controlled this game. Both Murray and Vasilevskiy were able to keep the puck out of the net, keeping the score tied at 2-2 for as long as possible.
Speed on Speed
Carl Hagelin is the secret that adds speed to the Penguins lineup. While he has not made a showing yet in this round, he has proved to be useful throughout the postseason. The Lightning have their own speed with players such as Ryan Callahan.
This speed allows the team to steal the puck from the Penguins, accounting for the majority of their goals so far this round.
