#10/10 California Vulcans

In what is easily the game of the week in the PSAC, the Vulcans head east to Kutztown to take on the defending conference champions.
If California wants to get a win, it will need to slow down the offense of the Golden Bears. Kutztown defeated Saint Anslem, 58-6, in week one, scoring 35 points in the opening quarter.
Senior quarterback Kevin Morton completed 31 passes for 409 yards and six touchdowns in the win. He also ran for 33 yards and a touchdown.
His top receiving target was senior Colby Tuell. Tuell made seven receptions for 98 yards and two touchdowns. Senior Josh Mastromatto added 78 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Mastromatto added 65 yards on the ground.
Senior Curtis Wortham led the team in rushing with 120 yards and a touchdown.
The defense held the Hawks to only 136 total yards, including only 39 yards on the ground. The Golden Bears defense recorded one interception.
Kutztown leads the all-time series with California with a 7-0-1 record. This is the first meeting between the two teams since 1997 when the Golden Bears picked up a 12-7 win.
#23/24 Indiana Crimson Hawks

- Last week: defeated Southern Connecticut, 33-6.
- Next week: vs. Cheyney, 1 p.m. Saturday.
The Crimson Hawks travel to Cheyney for their first PSAC battle of the season.
The Wolves won their opening game against Lincoln, 34-21, by concentrating on the ground game. Marcus Jones ran for 85 and a touchdown and quarterback Blaze Wasserleben added 74 yards.
The Cheyney passing game was almost nonexistent as Wasserleben threw for only 22 yards.
What gave the Wolves the win was the defense. Lincoln was held to only 56 yards on the ground and Tristan Dillon and Khalil Neal each returned fumble recoveries for touchdowns.
Indiana is 4-0 against Cheyney all-time. Indiana won the squads last encounter, 80-14, in 2007.
Seton Hill Griffins
- Record: 0-1
- Last week: fell to Slippery Rock, 52-6.
- Next week: at Urbana, 12 p.m. Saturday.
After a rough opening week, the Griffins will look to slow down the high-octane offense of the Urbana Blue Knights.
Urbana opened its season with a 53-33 win over Tusculum College. The Blue Knights dominated the game and had a 34-6 lead heading into halftime.
Urbana finds success with its running backs. Senior Jeffvon Gill and sophomore David Hill each broke the 100-yard mark in week one against Tusculum.
Quarterback DJ Mendenhall completed 22 of 30 passes for 305 yards and two touchdowns. His favorite targets in the opening game were Joe Webb – who finished with 151 yards and a touchdown– and Nate Wilburn-Ogletre – who added 91 yards and a touchdown.
The offensive line had a standout game, only surrendering one sack.
Slippery Rock The Rock

- Last week: defeated Seton Hill, 52-6.
- Next week: at Shippensburg, 1 p.m. Saturday.
Slippery Rock had no trouble in week one but might be facing a team in week two that can match its high-scoring spread offense.
The Shippensburg Red Raiders were led by quarterback Zach Zulli in week one. The junior completed 26 of 35 passes for 392 yards and four touchdowns in a 38-28 shootout win over Shepard.
Zulli’s favorite target was sophomore receiver Trevor Harman, who had six receptions for 105 yards and two touchdowns. Senior receiver Bryan Barley added four receptions for 99 yards and one touchdown.
The run game was kept to a minimum in week one. Senior Mike Frenette led the team in rushing with 41 yards.
The Red Raiders defense gave up 28 first-half points to Shepherd before pitching a shutout in the second half. Shippensburg gave up only 48 rushing yards.
The series between the teams dates back to 1924 with Slippery Rock leading the all-time series 39-20-2. The last game between the teams was a 38-34 win by the Rock.
