Duquesne (7-14, 2-8) looks to rebound from a 95-69 decision to Davidson (15-6, 6-4) Saturday as they take on George Washington (17-6, 7-3) tonight at 7:00 pm ET at the A.J. Palumbo Center.
George Washington leads the series 46-27 and is 40-22 in Atlantic 10 regular season games. The Colonials were picked to finish second in the Atlantic 10 preseason poll.
The Dukes lead 18-17 in games played at Pittsburgh, having won three of the past four meetings at the Palumbo Center. Head coach Jim Ferry is 0-3 against the Colonials.
This is the 74th meeting between the two teams in a series dating back to 1932. In the first matchup against the Colonials of the season on Jan. 24, George Washington won 74-59 at Washington, D.C.
The Colonials are led by junior guards Joe McDonald (10.1, 5.7), Kethan Savage (12.0, 5.2), and Patricio Garino (13.2, 5.4) and junior forward Kevin Larsen (10.7, 7.3). Freshman forward Yuta Watanabe (7.1, 3.5) has also proven to be a factor this season, dubbed “the Chosen One” by his hometown Japan Times in 2013.
Duquesne has outscored Atlantic 10 teams by +0.4 ppg at home this season.
