Duquesne rolled over UMass-Lowell by a score of 95-77 in an offensive display that featured four different players in double figures. The Dukes recorded Ferry-era highs in 3-pointers (13), assists (27), field goal percentage (62.3) and points.
Additionally, Ovie Soko put up 22 points, while Tra’Vaughn White had 15, Micah Mason had 14, and Jeremiah Jones had 11. With the win, Duquesne brought its record to an even 5-5.
Duquesne opened up an early 19-3 lead in the opening minutes, thanks to nine points from Soko and five from Dominique McKoy. The UMass-Lowell Riverhawks (1-11) cut the lead to 41-30 at the end of the first half thanks to a put-back from an offensive rebound, but that was the closest they got.
The Dukes are 2-0 on their current three-game road trip. After breaking for Christmas, they will head to Edinburg, Texas to play Texas Pan-American on December 29th. Duquesne will return to the Palumbo Center on January 2nd when they host Appalachian State, a team they beat 73-72 in one of two road wins last year.
Note: With the win, Duquesne has won back-to-back games for the first time this season. This is the first time a Duquesne team has shot over 60 percent since a 2010 win at Bowling Green.
