Duquesne (17-17) completed its season as it fell to Morehead State (21-12) 82-72 yesterday at Morehead, Kentucky in the quarterfinals of the College Basketball Invitational.
Senior guard Micah Mason scored a game-high 24 points while senior guard Derrick Colter contributed 16 for the Dukes.
Senior guard Brent Arrington led the Eagles with 17 points.
The game consisted of five ties and six lead changes before Arrington hit a shot from halfcourt at the buzzer to complete a 10-2 run that gave the Eagles a 43-36 lead at halftime, according to goduquesne.com.
The Eagles outscored the Dukes 24-10 in the paint in the second half and scored 21 points off 12 Duquesne turnovers.
Colter finished his career ranked seventh all-time in scoring with 1,695 points. His 125 career starts are the most in school history.
Mason went 4-of-12 from the arc to bring his school single-season record for 3-pointers in a season to 118. He finished his career 311-of-671 from the arc, a .464 career percentage that is the seventh-best mark in NCAA history.
Morehead State will advance to the semifinals on Wednesday night to play Ohio.
