Duquesne (15-10, 5-7) fell to Massachusetts (11-13, 4-8) 108-99 in overtime today at Palumbo Center, despite jumping to an early 15-3 lead.
Senior guard Micah Mason led Duquesne with a career-high 29 points and 10 assists. Junior forward L.G. Gill added 20 and freshman guard Josh Steel scored a career-high 11 points, all in the first half.
Senior guard Jabari Hinds led the Minutemen and court with 37 points. Senior guard Trey Davis added 26.
Duquesne, who dropped their third game in a row, led by six with 2:32 remaining before Hinds and Davis netted back-to-back 3-pointers to tie the game. Massachusetts tied the game on a pair of free throws with 41 seconds left to force the overtime.
The Minutemen hit 16-of-20 free throws in overtime.
The Dukes had a season-high 20 turnovers that led to 18 points for the Minutemen.
The game included five ties and four lead changes, in which Duquesne led for 28:47 and Massachusetts for 10:17.
Duquesne hosts George Washington (18-7, 7-5) on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Palumbo Center.
