Duquesne (15-9, 5-6) hosts Massachusetts (10-13, 3-8) today in the annual Chuck Cooper Classic at 3 p.m. at Palumbo Center.
The game will recognize Duquesne’s All-Century Team in conjunction with the school’s 100th season of basketball. Bruce Atkins, Mike Barr, Moe Barr, Jarrett Durham, B.B. Flenory, Ron Guziak, Barry Nelson, Norm Nixon, Garry Nelson, Willie Somerset and Bill Zopf will be presented as part of the 27-man team.
The Dukes, coming off a 76-74 loss at Dayton on Tuesday, look to break even in Atlantic 10 play.
The Minutemen, 2-6 on the road, lead the series 38-25. Duquesne leads 14-13 at Pittsburgh.
The last meeting in Pittsburgh featured eight ties and 11 lead changes that culminated in a 78-74 Massachusetts win last season.
Massachusetts, coming off a 69-63 home win over VCU on Thursday, enters today’s game having lost eight of its last 10 games.
Duquesne leads the nation (through Feb. 12) in defensive rebounds per game (30.08), according to goduquesne.com.
