The Duquesne men’s basketball team will start its season with a school-record eight games in November, including a matchup with the University of Kentucky, according to the 2016-17 non-conference season schedule that was released today.
The Dukes, who finished 10-3 in regular season non-conference games last season, tip-off their 101st season at home against Loyola Maryland on Friday, Nov. 11. Duquesne, part of the Atlantic 10 conference, then travels to State College, PA to face Penn State on Nov. 13.

Duquesne then heads to Lexington, KY on Nov. 20 to take on the highly ranked Wildcats before returning to Pittsburgh for the Dukes’ final three games in November.
To kick off December, the Dukes have a Dec. 2 matchup against the University of Pittsburgh in the 85th annual “City Game” at the CONSOL Energy Center in Pittsburgh.
This will be the fifth season at Duquesne for head coach Jim Ferry. He’ll have just two returning starters from last year’s 17-17 squad.
Duquesne will host Mansfield in an exhibition game on Nov. 5.
