The Duquesne Dukes are set to play the Howard Bison on Tuesday, Dec. 2 at 7:00 pm ET at the A.J. Palumbo Center in Pittsburgh, but may want to watch out for the name “James” in the process.
The Bison, 4-3 overall, defeated Gwynedd Mercy University 96-83 on Nov. 29 with the help of senior G/F James “JC” Carlton and sophomore G/F James “JT” Miller, each posting career highs of 26 and 33 points, respectively. Leading scorer sophomore G James “J-Byrd” Daniel sat out with a thigh injury.
The Bison, led by fourth year head coach Kevin Nickelberry, are 3-0 at home and 1-3 on the road.
The Dukes are currently 2-1 overall, falling to NJIT 84-81 on Nov. 29. Junior guard Micah Mason hit a career high six 3-pointers in the defeat, followed closely by junior guard Derrick Colter, who was 4-6 from beyond the arc.
Duquesne leads the all-time series 1-0. The last game between the two schools was in 2007, with the Dukes defeating the Bison 129-59.
Duquesne head coach Jim Ferry is in his third season.
The game will be covered by WJAS 1320 AM and 3WS HD2, with live streaming available through iHeartRadio and on the Atlantic 10 Conference website.
