While the Duquesne women’s basketball team awaits whom they will play in the Atlantic 10 Tournament, they were widely recognized by the conference on Tuesday.
April Robinson capped off a great senior season and outstanding career by being named league’s 2015-16 Co-Player of the Year.
Robinson finished the regular season first in the conference and eighth nationally with an assist-to-turnover ratio of 2.71. She was also second in the A-10 and sixth in the NCAA with 190 assists.
She also had a tremendous season scoring the basketball, averaging 15.3 point per game. During the season Robinson was named A-10 Player of the Week five times and is a finalist for the Lieberman Award. Robinson was also named to the All-Academic Team.
Deva’Nyar Workman was also recognized, being named Sixth Woman of the Year.
Workman ranks third in the conference in rebounds per game (9.1) and free throw percentage (82.5).
Both Workman and Robinson were named First-Team All-Conference and Workman was also named to the All-Defensive Team.
It wasn’t just the Duquesne veterans that were recognized, as freshmen Kadri-Ann Lass and Chassidy Omogrosso were named to the All-Rookie Team.
Lass won the A-10 Rookie of the Week award a program record setting seven-times.
She averaged 10.7 points per game which was second among all conference freshman. Lass also led all A-10 first-year players in blocks and field goal percentage.
Omogrosso won A-10 Rookie of the Week twice during the season. She led all A-10 freshman by making 38.0 percent of her three-point attempts.
The Dukes will await their opponent in the A-10 Tournament, facing either La Salle, Massachusetts or Fordham on Friday night.
