Martin will be, by far, the best free agent catching candidate this offseason as he is having a career year at the plate and behind it and will be receiving a substantial contract offer from other large market teams.
Martin is currently posting a .294/.405/.842 slash line with 20 doubles, 11 home runs and 67 RBI. He also has thrown out 39% (37-of-94) of base runners — second in the NL behind Yadier Molina — and his WAR of 5.5 ranks ninth among NL position players.
