While the Frontiet League All Star Game is set to be played at CONSOLE Energy Park, the home field crowd will have two hometown heroes to cheer on.
The Washington Wild Things had two players selected to represent them on the East Division’s All Star roster. Utility man Stewart Ijames and Second baseman CJ Beatty have both been selected to the roster. The selection comes during both players first season in Frontier League play and their first with the Wild Things.
Ijames, who has seen most of his action this season at first base, will get the start in the outfield for the East. Ijames leads the team in batting average, hitting .324 this season. He also has 7 home runs and 21 RBIs on the year. Beatty, who will get the start at second for the East squad, leads the Wild things in home runs and RBIs, with 9 and 30, respectively.
The All Star festivities will kickoff next Monday, July 15th, with the All Star game being on Wednesday, July 17th at 7:05 pm ET
