Could this finally be the year for former Pittsburgh Steelers running back Jerome Bettis to get the call?
It could be, as Bettis, along with former Steelers linebacker Kevin Greene are among the 26 modern era semifinalists for Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2015.
Bettis has been a finalist the past four seasons and while you really couldn’t make a case for him to get in with the past couple of classes, this could be the year for “The Bus.” Bettis ranks sixth on the all-time rushing list, having gained 13,662 career yards overall in his career (10,571 with the Steelers).
Greene has been a finalist the past three seasons, but likely doesn’t have as good of a chance as Bettis. In his three seasons with the Steelers, Greene recorded 35.5 sacks. He finished his career with 160 sacks, 26 fumble recoveries, five interceptions, and recorded three safeties.

The list will be trimmed down to 15 finalists, which will be announced on January 8. The Class of 2015 will be announced on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2015 as a part of Super Bowl XLIX weekend.
