At the conclusion of the 2012-2013 school year the National Association of Basketball Coaches names players to their Honors Court. With the conclusion of this school year, four men’s basketball players from the PSAC West have been named to the list.
Jordan Grady of Slippery Rock University is a 6’4″ 215 pound native of Cumberland, Maryland. He averaged 1.5 points and 2.1 rebounds last season for a Rock team that finished second in the PSAC West and qualified for the NCAA Division II tournament. Grady, a junior by academic standards, is a transfer student from Garrett College and was considered a freshman on the court. He received “Freshman of the Week” honors by the PSAC on December 30th.
The other three players come from Gannon University.
Robert Wilson is a 6’3″ 205 pound native of Streetsboro, Ohio. He averaged 12.0 points and 6.3 rebounds last season. His teammates consider him a gym rat and one of the hardest workers on the team. After sitting out the 2011 season after transferring from Urbana, Wilson has contributed largely to this Gannon team.
Tanner Furno is a 6’9″ 230 pound native of Columbus, Ohio. He averaged 6.4 points and 2.8 rebounds last season. He’s held several academic awards from the PSAC and the NCAA, including an NABC Honors Court selection last season. He’s known for his toughness and hard work in the classroom.
CJ Oldham is a 6’8″ 205 pound native of Solon, Ohio. He averaged 3.7 points and 4.0 rebounds per game last season. He transferred from Akron. He was also named to the NABC Honor’s Court last season.
The NABC Honors Court recognizes college basketball student athletes who carry at least a 3.2 grade point average. According to their press release, the NABC pays tribute to “the talents and gifts these men possess off the court, and the hard work they exhibit in the classroom.”
