After days of speculation, the Atlanta Falcons top receiving threat is out for Sunday’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Julio Jones was ruled out by team doctors about two hours prior to kickoff as he continues to struggle with an injury to his hip.
That means Roddy White and Harry Douglas will be the top two targets for Falcons QB Matt Ryan. The only other significant inactive players in this Week 15 matchup for Atlanta are T Jonathan Scott and CB Robert Alford.
For Pittsburgh, LB James Harrison headlines those out for the Steelers, as he will miss his second straight game. Jarvis Jones and Ryan Shazier will help fill in for Harrison again. Tackle Marcus Gilbert is also out, so Mike Adams will start on the offensive line in front of QB Ben Roethlisberger. Ike Taylor is out as well, with a shoulder injury, and he will be replaced on the active roster by CB B.W. Webb, who is only expected to play on the special teams unit. Either Brice McCain or Antwon Blake is expected to start at cornerback in his place.
Other inactives for Pittsburgh: QB Landry Jones, RB Dri Archer, WR Justin Brown, DE Clifton Geathers
