Given the way their offense has performed at times this season, the Pittsburgh Steelers should be well represented in this year’s Pro Bowl.
The fans at least have recognized what the Steelers have done so far.
Both Le’Veon Bell and Antonio Brown finished in the Top 10 overall as the fan vote came to a close on Wednesday.
Bell (702,782 votes) finished with the sixth most votes overall, while Brown (644,093) finished eighth. Bell finished second among all NFL running backs (DeMarco Murray), while Brown led all wide receivers in voting.
Other Steelers players also were well represented in the fan vote. Center Maurkice Pouncey finished second at his position, behind the Dallas Cowboys Travis Frederick. Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, linebacker Lawrence Timmons and safety Troy Polamalu all finished fifth at their respective positions.
Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers led all vote getters with 1,015,004 votes.
Pro Bowl rosters are determined by the votes of fans, players and coaches. Each group’s vote counts one-third toward determining the 86-man Pro Bowl list. NFL players and coaches will cast their votes later this week, and the selections will be announced on Tuesday on the NFL Network at 7 p.m.
The game will be played on January 25 at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Arizona, which also is the site of Super Bowl XLIX.
