Since training camp started, the backup quarterback position has been heavily scrutinized for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Whether it be the poor play of Landry Jones or injuries to Bruce Gradkowski, the need to bring in another option has been there for general manager Kevin Colbert.
One name out there currently without a job is Michael Vick.
That possibility could become a reality as according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter as Vick is reportedly on his way to meet with the Steelers on Tuesday.

The 35-year old Vick could become a serious option as backup quarterback Bruce Gradkowski was also injured during Sunday’s preseason victory over the Green Bay Packers.
Schefter also notes that Gradkowski is scheduled to have surgery today for a dislocated left finger. The injury to Gradowski happened when he dove for a low shotgun snap.
Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin has been intrigued by Vick in the past as Tomlin made inquiries about signing Vick after he was released from federal prison in 2009 after serving 21 months for his dog fighting conviction.
Tomlin got a good look at Vick last season when he threw two touchdown passes and no interceptions in the New York Jets’ 20-13 upset victory against the Steelers in November. He also ran eight times for 39 yards in that game.
Vick appeared in 10 games overall last season with the Jets, starting three. He completed 64 of 121 passes for 604 yards, throwing three touchdowns and two interceptions. He also rushed 26 times for 153 yards.
It is worth noting that as of now just a meeting is scheduled as there haven’t been any confirmations of a workout planned.
