PITTSBURGH – Despite the unusual cold, rainy temperatures in Brooklyn, New York, the Pittsburgh Passion bring a victory back to Pittsburgh with a final score of 31-6 over the New York Sharks, improving their record to 3-0.
The Passion Offense was led by Quarterback, Lisa Horton who finished her third career 100-yard rushing performance tonight, ending with 108 rushing yards with one rushing touchdown, along with 164 passing yards and one passing touchdown to Amanda Haeg. Fullback, Kadesha Clark scored her fourth touchdown of the season in the second quarter of the game. Wide Receiver, Amanda Haeg had 4 receptions for 79 yards and Defensive Back, turned offensive player tonight, Sharon Vazquez, had her first three career receptions for 50 yards. The Passion finished the game with 206 yards rushing as a team.
The Passion Defense also dominated starting with Defensive Back, Krissy Edmonds who completed two interceptions against the Sharks, one being a 47-yard interception return for a touchdown in the third quarter. This was Edmond’s third pick of the season. Offensive starter, turned Defensive Back, Haeg, had one interception for 12 yards. Defensive Back, Michelle Peters, lead the team with 6 tackles. Defensive Tackle, Kaitlain Niedermeyer [CZ1] and Defensive End, Jessica Nelko, both with 5 tackles and one sack tonight. Kicker, Amy Fallon, was four for four in extra points, also completing a 25-yard field goal in the second quarter.
