Now that Pitt football coach Pat Narduzzi has his coaching staff in place, all focus has turned to recruiting for the upcoming season.
With that in mind it looks as if Narduzzi has landed his first pair of recruits as the Panthers head coach.
Coatesville safety Jay Stocker and Doral, FL, defensive end Shawn Curtis both announced their decisions to sign with Pitt on Wednesday.
According to Rivals.com., Stocker is ranked the 11th best prospect in Pennsylvania and is the third highest rated defensive back. The top-rated DB in the state is Central Valley’s Jordan Whitehead, who is also a Pitt commit.
Stocker was a three-year starter for Coatesville, who went 13-1 this past season.
He had plenty of offers from Power 5 conference schools, reportedly choosing the Panthers over the likes of Wisconsin, Duke, Georgia Tech and West Virginia.
The scouting report on him is that Stocker is a big time hitter and an outstanding tackler.
Curtis, a two-star recruit from Ronald Reagan High School in Florida reportedly had offers from 12 different schools and choose the Panthers over the likes of Illinois, Wisconsin and Duke.
