In other Pens news, the team will reportedly make qualifying offers to five of their restricted free agents, hoping to keep them around next season.
Those five players include forwards Bobby Farnham, Jayson Megna, and Brandon Sutter, and defensemen Simon Despres and Philip Samuelsson.
By making the qualifying offers, the Pens will have to right to match if any of the five should sign an offer sheet with another franchise.
