The Pittsburgh Penguins have announced their preseason schedule for the 2015-16 season. The Penguins will play eight preseason games, which is the most for the team since 2005-06, when they played 10 games.
Their preseason slate kicks off with a road game against divisional rivals Columbus on Monday, Sept 21. The home scheduled begins the next night at Consol Energy when the Penguins host the Carolina Hurricanes.
The Penguins annual free game for kids will be held on Saturday Sept 26 at 4:00 p.m. against the Blue Jackets. Tickets for that game will be distributed through local youth hockey teams.
The Pens will play two neutral-site games. The first of which will be Wednesday, Sept. 28 in Quebec City, Quebec against the Montreal Canadiens in the first-ever game in the brand new Videotron Centre.
The following night, on Tuesday, Sept. 29, the Penguins will face the Tampa Bay Lightning in a nationally televised game from the Cambria County War Memorial Arena in Johnstown, Pa. Johnstown won the right to host the game through the Kraft Hockeyville USA contest, which also granted the city $150,000 in arena improvements.
The Penguins will wrap up a three games in three nights stretch on Wednesday Sept. 30 back at Consol Energy Center against the Detroit Red Wings, and will complete their preseason schedule on Friday, Oct. 2 against the Carolina Hurricanes in Raleigh, N.C.
