With stars such as Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin and Kris Letang, the Pittsburgh Penguins have long been one of the featured franchises in the NHL, and this season appears to be no different in that regard.
The Penguins will appear on NBC or NBCSN 18 times in 2015-16 as the NHL’s broadcast partner will produce a record 105 regular season games league-wide.
The Penguins will be tapped for NBCSN’s Wednesday Night Rivarly matchup six times: on Oct. 28 against the Washington Capitals, Nov. 11 against the Montreal Canadiens, Dec. 16 against the Boston Bruins, Jan. 6 against the Chicago Blackhawks, Feb. 10 against the New York Rangers and Feb. 24 against the Boston Bruins.
They’ll also be a part of the “Wednesday Nightcap” on Dec. 9 versus Colorado, when their game against the Avalanche will come on immediately following the Wednesday Night Rivalry matchup.
The Penguins will also take part in Hockey Day in America on NBC with a 12:30 p.m. start on Sunday, Feb. 21 against the Sabres in Buffalo, New York.
NBCSN will also have hockey on Sunday nights in the second half of the season. The Penguins will appear on Sunday Night Hockey twice, with divisional matches against the Capitals on March 20 and the Rangers on March 27.
NBC will also stream games through their NBC Sports Live Extra app on mobile devices, tablets, Roku and Apple TV.
