Pirates reliever Stolmy Pimentel has been placed on the 15-Day disabled list with a sprained right ankle as reported by Bill Brink of the PG.

Pimentel is 2-1 with a 5.40 ERA in 31 2/3 innings this season with a 1.547 WHIP and 37 strikeouts. He has allowed seven runs over his last five appearances.
John Axford will take Pimentel’s place on the active roster and is available in tonight’s series opener against the Nationals.
