With just hours remaining until the Pittsburgh Pirates and Chicago Cubs meet in the 2015 National League Wild Card Game at PNC Park, Pirates manager Clint Hurdle announced the 25-man roster he will use for the game.
The roster includes nine pitchers and three catchers.
The roster for tonight’s game looks as follows:
Catchers: Francisco Cervelli, Chris Stewart, Elias Diaz
Infielders: Pedro Alvarez, Neil Walker, Jordy Mercer, Josh Harrison, Aramis Ramirez, Pedro Florimon, Michael Morse, Sean Rodriguez
Outfielder- Starling Marte, Andrew McCutchen, Gregory Polanco, Travis Snider, Keon Broxton
Pitchers- Gerrit Cole, Francisco Liriano, Antonio Bastardo, Joe Blanton, Arquimedes Caminero, Jarred Hughes, Tony Watson, Mark Melancon, Joakim Soria
Left off the roster for tonight’s game were pitchers Bobby LaFromboise, Rob Scahill, Jeff Locke and Vance Worley, along with outfielders Jaff Decker and Travis Ishikawa among others.
The Cubs roster for tonight’s matchup is as follows:
Catchers: Miguel Montero, David Ross.
Infielders: Javier Baez, Kris Bryant, Starlin Castro, Tommy La Stella, Anthony Rizzo, Addison Russell.
Outfielders: Quintin Berry, Chris Coghlan, Chris Denorfia, Dexter Fowler, Austin Jackson, Kyle Schwarber, Jorge Soler.
Pitchers: Jake Arrieta, Trevor Cahill, Justin Grimm, Kyle Hendricks, Clayton Richard, Fernando Rodney, Hector Rondon, Jon Lester, Clayton Richard, Travis Wood.
If the Pirates find a way to defeat Jake Arrieta tonight, Hurdle can submit a different 25-man roster for when they head to St. Louis to take on the Cardinals on Friday.
