The Pitt Panthers football team may have its problems on the field, but you have to give them credit for scheduling well.
Unlike many teams in the country the Panthers have always scheduled well out of conference. Now that they are in the ACC, that trend will continue.
Pitt has announced a home-and-home series with Oklahoma State beginning in 2016.
The 2016 contest will take place at Boone Pickens, while the series will shift to Heinz Field in 2017.
Adding a Big 12 Conference powerhouse is big for the Pitt program. Hopefully they will be in better shape as a program by then.
Oklahoma State has been one of the more dominant programs in the nation since 2008, compiling a 56-17 record the past five and a half seasons, nearly earning a chance to play for the BCS championship in 2011.
During that same time span, the Panthers have posted only a 43-30 mark during that span.
Already on the 2016 slate are away games against the Cowboys and Clemson and a home contest against Penn State.
Pitt always scheduled well, which is a blessing when you look at the way some other local teams have scheduled in the past.
Unfortunately winning those games is a different story altogether.
