The Pitt Panthers basketball team is building momentum as their non-conference portion of their schedule came to a close on Saturday.
Sitting at 12-1 on the season, Jamie Dixon’s Panthers cracked the AP Poll for the first time this season on Monday.
After a week that saw the Panthers defeat both Syracuse and Maryland Eastern Shore, Pitt checked in at No. 24 in the latest AP Poll.
The 2-0 week also saw Pitt rise up four spots to No. 21 in the Coaches Poll.
Pitt is ranked in the AP Poll for the first time since Feb. 3, 2014.
The Panthers will be back in action on Wednesday when they play host to Georgia Tech before traveling to Notre Dame on Saturday for their first road ACC game of the season.
