The Pitt Panthers stay in the AP Poll was a short-lived one.
After losing to Louisville last Thursday, the Panthers found themselves on the outside looking in of the Top 25, even though they closed the week with a dominating win over Boston College.
Pitt had been ranked No. 20 heading into last week. This week they are the first team outside the Top 25 with 184 votes.
The Oklahoma Sooners are No. 1 in The Associated Press Top 25 for the first time since the final two weeks of the 1989-90 season. They are the first unanimous No. 1 since Kentucky was for 12 polls last season. Oklahoma is the fifth team to hold the No. 1 spot this season, joining North Carolina, Kentucky, Michigan State and Kansas.
The Sooners are followed by North Carolina, Kansas, Villanova and Xavier.
West Virginia, after their upset of Kansas last week, sits just outside the Top 5 at No. 6.
The Panthers remained in the Top 20 in the USA Today Coaches Poll, coming in at No. 20, dropping three spots from last week.
The Top 4 in the Coaches Poll are the same as the AP Poll. Maryland rounds out the Top 5, coming in at No. 5.
West Virginia clocks in at No. 7 in the Coaches Poll.
