Pitt men’s basketball coach Jamie Dixon picked up its third member of the Class of 2016 on Monday when they landed junior college guard Crisshawn Clark.
Clark, who is a 6-foot-4 combo guard officially visited Pitt and Oregon and also had reported offers from Gonzaga, Cal, Arizona State and Butler. He attended high school in Huber Heights, Ohio, before settling at Canada College in San Mateo, CA.
While there, Clark averaged 15 points, five rebounds and three assists last season while shooting 35 percent from the field.
The book on Clark is that he is a high flyer who can shoot it as well as rebound. He is also said to be a more than capable defender. He is extremely versatile and athletic and should be able to play both guard positions at the Division I level.
According to reports, Clark plans to redshirt his final season at Canada College and will have three years of eligibility with the Panthers, beginning in 2016-17.
Clark is the third member of Pitt’s 2016 class, joining three-star guard Justice Kithcart and three-star forward Corey Manigault.
