As Paul Chryst and the Pitt Panthers prepare for their 2013 season opener against Florida State on Labor Day, we now have a good idea of who will be on the field for the Panthers.
Pitt released its two-deep depth chart for the season opener and it contained a few surprises.
Some things of note:
-Running back Isaac Bennett, who has been recovering from a knee injury, will be the starter against the Seminoles.
– Four freshmen will be in the starting lineup: wide receiver Tyler Boyd, offensive tackle Adam Bisnowaty, linebacker Bam Bradley and kicker Chris Blewitt. Blewitt is currently hurt and if he can’t go he will be replaced by another freshman in Brad Lukasak
– Ejuan Price has made the transition from linebacker to defensive end and is listed as a starter at both defensive end positions. He will move around and play some with his hand down and some standing up.
– There is no fullback listed as most of the time the Panthers will go with one running back, two tight ends and two wide receivers.
– Finally, sophomore Artie Rowell used a very strong camp to beat out Gabe Roberts at center, which may have surprised some people when camp started.
